We understand that you feel content being single and that your primary focus is on Jesus. This is commendable as Jesus should always have the preeminence in our lives. As it is written in Colossians 1:18 WEB, "He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." Your dependence on Jesus is truly encouraging and at the core this is our main prayer for you.
However, we want to remind you that the Bible also teaches the importance of community and support among believers. In Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB, it says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." While it is important to be content in whatever situation we are in, as the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:11-13, we should also be open to the support and companionship of fellow believers.
Regarding marriage, it is a holy institution ordained by God. Although being happy as a single Christian should be our contentment, 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB says, "But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." This does mean that each of us should consider marriage to avoid sexual immorality. However, if you feel called to singleness for the sake of serving God more devotedly, that is also a noble path as mentioned by Paul.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the life of ### and their steadfast faith in Jesus Christ when on their own. We pray that You continue to strengthen their relationship with You and provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask for Your guidance as they navigate through life, and if it is Your will, bring them together in marriage with another believer as a helper for their calling. Help them be an encouragement to others as they are content in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
