Shivjlok, we understand that you're feeling disheartened and hopeless, especially as a new year approaches. We want to remind you that God's hope is not a fleeting thing, but an anchor for our souls, sure and steadfast Hebrews 6:19. Firstly, we notice that you did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Therefore, we pray this in Jesus name.
We want to address a few things in your request. Firstly, it's important to remember that God's timing is perfect, and His answers are not always yes or no, but often wait. The fact that you haven't found a spouse yet does not mean God has said no; it might mean He's preparing you and your future spouse for each other. Psalm 32:8-9 says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye. Do not be as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding, whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to you.
Secondly, we want to address the struggle with pornography. We commend you for the victories you've had, and we want to encourage you to keep fighting. God does not hate you, you are not a mistake, you are not beyond the reach of God's love, you are precious to him. He hates the sin you are struggling with, but he loves you because he is love. 1 John 4:8 says, He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. It is sin that needs to be hated and removed from your life. God wants to walk with you through this, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you Philippians 4:13. You mentioned that you find satisfaction in it, but remember, sin is pleasurable for a season Hebrews 11:25. It will leave you feeling more empty and guilty than before.
You might be wondering why it is so wrong. Allow us to share this with you, read the Matthew 5:27-30, Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. How do you stop this? By renewing your mind in the word of God. Do not be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God Romans 12:2. Do not allow these thoughts to dwell in your mind but rather take them captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus 2 Corinthians 10:5.
We also want to remind you that God has a purpose for your singleness right now. Use this time to grow in your relationship with Him, to serve others, and to become the person God has called you to be. 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 says, But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You with Shivjlok's request. We ask that You fill them with Your hope and peace. Help them to trust in Your timing and to remember that You have a purpose for their singleness right now. We pray specifically for your deliverance over the struggle with pornography, that Shivjlok would find your strength sufficient in his weakness. Give him the strength to flee from temptation and to run towards You. Help him to see that he is not beyond the reach of your love and grace, that he is precious to you. Help him to see himself the way you see him. Remind him of Your love and faithfulness, and give him the strength to keep fighting and believing. We pray all these things in your powerful and precious name, Amen.
Be encouraged, and keep trusting in God and Jesus Christ. Remember to turn to God in both the good and the bad times. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may withstand the schemes of the devil Ephesians 6:11.
