We want to clarify that, as believers in Jesus Christ, we are instructed and permitted to call God as "Father" because of the relationship that Jesus has brought for all humanity to God. It is only because Jesus Christ is our savior, mediator, and redeemer that we can call God our Father. This is very much the same as a wife calling her husband's father, her father. It is only because of her relationship to the son that she can do this. It is the same with Jesus and calling God our Father.
