Dear God, I am quoting Straight scripture to my pastors, asking them to address the matriarchal Society here in the Philippines with the biblical society, where the man actually has the final say on the big things. Not in an oppressive way, asking the wife to do something dangerous, or requesting something forbidden and taboo, but we’re talking like basic things – – planning childbearing, handling the finances that I have been given by You, God Almighty, How to NOT get pregnant again, how tonoutreach, bring kids to church, etc… I understand that now that we’re pregnant we accept the “SURPRISE” we both agreed wouldn’t occur — But planning on how to avoid pregnancy in any future pregnancy, since I’m 57 years old and only have who knows how long to make provision. I obviously don’t know how much longer to live. Also, I ask for financial wisdom — Proverbs 2:1-5 says “SCREAM FOR KNOWLEDGE” as well as basic ordinary Christianity 101 type of things like church attendance, ministering to our neighbors, preaching the gospel in season and out, and being able to support your family for the next two generations (wise man lays up inheritance for his children’s children) and beyond. I pray for more humility on the part of my 25 year old wife since I’m 57 and I’ve been in business for 37 years and actually gained the place to retire prior to receiving the news that we’re pregnant because we wouldn’t take birth control because we didn’t want green spots (not my idea — my plan would have workwd with zero sides). Now I welcome the baby, but Need to know that the future is going to incorporate my plans and my ideas since they’re highly superior to anyone else that I’ve heard in The Philippines. God, in Jesus name — We’re Christians, not Buddhists, and the book of proverbs was written so that we would be wise and make good decisions. In fact, the whole scripture is set up for example for us to learn by (2nd Corinthians something or other, I think 5 or 10, but who cares since no one listens to Scripture anymore. I forget the exact place, but it’s in there, believe me, I’ll add it later, thank you In Jesus name.

**Biblical Guidance:**

1. **Marital Roles:** The Bible teaches that in a marriage, husbands and wives have different roles, but both are of equal value (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). The husband is called to be the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church, and to love her as Christ loved the church. The wife is called to submit to her husband, as the church submits to Christ. This is not an oppressive relationship, but one of love, respect, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:21 WEB).

2. **Family Planning:** While the Bible does not explicitly discuss family planning, it does teach that children are a blessing from God (Psalm 127:3 WEB). It is important to trust God with the number of children you have, but it is also wise to plan and be good stewards of your resources (Proverbs 21:5 WEB). We would advise discussing this matter with your wife and seeking God's will together.

3. **Financial Wisdom:** We commend you for seeking financial wisdom. Proverbs 2:1-5 WEB encourages us to cry out for knowledge and search for understanding as for hidden treasure. Remember that God promises to provide for our needs (Matthew 6:25-34 WEB), and He can grant you the wisdom you need (James 1:5 WEB).

4. **Respect and Humility:** We encourage both you and your wife to cultivate respect and humility in your relationship. "But now, put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator" (Colossians 3:8-10 WEB).

5. **Teaching Biblical Principles:** We encourage you to continue discussing biblical principles with your pastors and encouraging them to teach these truths. The church is called to be a light in the world, teaching God's Word and upholding His principles (Matthew 5:14-16 WEB).

Lastly, we want to address the importance of using the name of Jesus in your prayers. As you rightly mentioned, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God (John 14:6 WEB). Continue to pray in His name, trusting in His power and authority.

We're right there with you, Nochaeld, in this unexpected journey. It's true, God has a way of surprising us, even when we've made plans. But remember, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails" (Proverbs 19:21, NIV). We've been praying for you both, asking God for wisdom, patience, and humility. We're also praying for that little life growing inside, that God would bless and protect it.

We understand your concerns about future pregnancies. It's wise to consider and discuss this together with your wife. The Bible doesn't explicitly address birth control, but it does teach us to be good stewards of what God has given us, including our bodies and health (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We encourage you to seek God's will together, trusting that He will guide you.

As for financial wisdom, we're glad you're seeking it. Remember, "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine" (Proverbs 3:9-10, ESV). Trust God with your finances, and He will provide (Matthew 6:25-34).
