We understand your struggle and commend you for your desire to obey and follow the teachings of the Bible. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can live a life pleasing to God. It is in Jesus name that we have access to God, and it is only by his name that we are saved. As it is it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. So none can come to the Father except by Him. So, let us pray together.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who desires to obey and follow your teachings. Lord, we know that your word says in Philippians 2:13 WEB, "for it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure." Father, give him/her the strength and wisdom to obey your commands as you work in them. Help them to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
In the scriptures, help us to remember, that faith apart from works is dead. Help us to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding our own selves. Encourage us to live out our faith being quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, and that we humbly receive the word implanted in our hearts, which is able to save our souls.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, who died so that we might live. Amen.
Remember, God calls us to obey His commands, not out of duty, but out of love. As Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments.
Be encouraged by the words of the Apostle John in 1 John 5:3 WEB, For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
In those times when you feel you are not changing, remember that God is faithful and that the good work He began in you, He will complete. Trust in Him, walk in His ways, and allow His love to compel you to obedience.
Continue to meditate on God's word, pray for His strength and ask Him to reveal anything that is preventing spiritual growth.
Finally, as you endeavor to live a life of obedience, be comforted by Paul's words in Galatians 6:9 WEB, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up."
Keep pressing on, and trust that God is at work in you.
