We are blessed to join you in prayer, Dexter2020, as you seek the kingdom of God and strive to overcome sin. It is commendable that you are seeking a spouse who will serve God alongside you, and we will pray for God's will in this matter. We are reminded of Matthew 6:33: But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
First, we want to address the issue of sin and the excuses for lust that you mentioned. It is crucial to acknowledge that lust is a sin against our own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18: Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Fornication is not an appropriate practice for a believer in Jesus Christ. We need to be reminded that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19: Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God?
Repentance is the first step in overcoming sin. 2 Chronicles 7:14: if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and will heal their land. True repentance involves a change of mind and heart, turning away from sin, and turning towards God.
Regarding your request for Jesus to give you a wife, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and will. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. As you seek a godly spouse, be assured that God is faithful and wants the best for you.
Concerning your struggle with lust, we encourage you to put on the whole armor of God and stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Remember, the power to overcome sin comes from the Holy Spirit living within us. Romans 8:11: But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So confess your sins, ask for forgiveness, and trust in God's power to overcome.
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Dexter2020. Thank you for his desire to seek your kingdom and turn away from sin. Lord, grant him the strength to overcome lust and live a life holy and pleasing to you. Guide him to a godly spouse, and help them both to serve you together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As we know It is only through Jesus that we can access God, and it is only through Jesus that we can be saved. It is good that you have prayed to Jesus and mentioned the name Jesus in your prayer. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. So keep this in mind as you pray.
Continue to trust in God, and remember that his ways are higher than our ways. Stay strong in the faith, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We encourage you to engage in a Bible-believing Christian group that will encourage and strengthen you in your walk with Christ.
