We are all given steps in prayer. An effective and loving response begins with trusting the Lord in all things, acting quickly, and leading with a heart of compassion.
For God's glory and their good during this season of cross-bearing, we must pray with that in mind. Let us focus on the path that is good for them, for their soul's wellbeing and our unity as believers, and for their eternal peace in the Heavenly to come. Let us compel them with our unwavering prayers that follow the example of Christ's own words within Genesis 42, Ezekiel 18, and the examples He uses throughout the Bible. For in Genesis 42, God tells his own family and his relatives to go down to Egypt, and look out more than just their physical circumstances. The timing of the journey is set, but in all circumstances, the focus is on their people and not on themselves.
We know that because Joseph refocused his relational lens, no matter the situation, he was able to share his devotion for God's people. Joseph understood that if he and his brethren were to succeed in their journey, and most likely split, they would leave each other, yet we know that His focus held strong, and they were safe and saved (Genesis 45:23). This is just more of the God of our examples - focused, understanding, and willing to do the Father's will. We see this same focus shown in the wake of answered prayers.
We are called to pray covering, redemption, for healing and a future for the persecuted, unity, and persevering. We must listen and pray (James 1) for God's will to be done, that we might stir up the hearts of the people around us in love.
Pray together, for when we bring unity to a divided family and a spiritually stirred nation, we bring hope, healing, and redemption to a situation that seems overcome by the unbridled sin. This is the hope of many, and it is our passionate prayer that we too might be part of that prayer, so that when God judges and looks upon the nations He might of his own will look upon the Church and see that it has something of worth to bring to a Father who seek our hearts in love.
Let's pray:
Father, we seek Your will amidst this storm. Help them to be free to act quickly without fear, O Lord. Make the way clear so that they may respond joyfully, without hesitation. Give them sympathy for all they know, mighty God, and bring them under Your eternal seal. Snatch them from the storm for Your glory so that they may experience Your peace. Allow them to communicate, Divine Beings, you can't hold them too long or they will respond back quickly. This is a crucial season, help them to cry out for Your deliverance, for speedy resolution and comfort, for timing to be just as You have planned, not out of His lack of patience for Your people, but for their own protection. Call them up out of Egypt and Joseph out of the pit, that they may see the goodness of the Lord 'so that they may do the will of the I Am and he shall reveal His salvation. Then God stands with them while they recognize Jesus in all they see and judge the nations by their works and lay bare their eyes and ears for truth.
Reward them with salvation, O Lord, and bless them to transition from disobedience to obedience so that they might experience Your sovereignty, mercy, and love. Help them to seek You with all their hearts and surrender based on their good deeds and love that grows over time. Help us to see this situation as God sees it and to set their lives moving forward to His glory; reviving those gone astray, catching the wicked off guard with the Father's love, and effecting everything with His mighty hand so that eternal redemption is guaranteed.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, which only has access to God the Father for our worship,
Then let your word be upon their hearts,
Eagerly desire the power of faith within them,
Fill their mind higher and higher,
So that the spirit of truth makes it's home.
And they will gird their waist all the way up,
Filled with the power of Holy Spirit,
Close their ears to that gentle whispering, rebuking and calling,
Listen to the voice which says to them, arise.
So, they will know the truth and know it from their hearts,
So that when they see the truth being spread,
Their conscience will give them a voice, a conclusion,
The evidence will be true, and the voice will be heard,
Then let your spirit be carried to them,
Let the person be freed from guilt,
And let it be filled with the life of Jesus,
Let the truth be revealed,
All this will lead to a future which is free,
Let the people walk away from the darkness,
And let them enter the kingdom of God.
To God be all the glory,
Amen
