Not for anything, and not that saying ...

Beloved of All
Not for anything, and not that saying it will change anything, but I notice there are those that are more "active" on the site, they respond, and at other times I get on and there are some of those who are maybe not the "well-known" ones who ,if I post at a certain time, ,not only me , but I notice out of everyone who posts, that even 15 minutes later they all got "0" responses. Then after like 18 minutes "Articles" pops up. I don't know why some are on here , but don't get involved. Some of the prayer requests I read seem like legitimate requests. Yet at those times , we all get "Zeros" across the board. Sometimes there's only a few people on , but even if there's alot on, they're not the type to get involved.Just wondering. Some sound like "foreign" names , maybe they feel uncomfortable with their English. {But they're not uncomfortable to post their request,}Just wondering why some are more "involved" than others.

Hey there Steven,
I know what you mean exactly. I was looking into connecting with people on this site at least on some level or at creating some degree of supportive community, but due to inconsistency of the site's users, it seems an impossible task. It's a bit frustrating that's why I rarely come here. Perhaps, we could form a group, like a consistent persistent prayer group, within this site? I agree with you, a lot of people don't get involved and don't even read the requests, just hit the "I prayed for this" button to get the high score. If you have any ideas on how to improve the community, please share your thoughts. Merry belated Christmas (although, Orthodox Christmas is still to come! :-) and Happy New Year! Thanks for posting and thanks for trying to make a difference!
God bless you, brother in Christ!

Also, they seem to have a "leaning towards" who they respond to. Someone posts what seems like a valid request, and they'll get one or two replies. If it's something about a diiferent subject, they'll get 10 replies.Notice that?

I'm afraid I'm not here often enough to notice these details, but I believe you! Some people I talked to here don't like this site because it's too generic and replies aren't personal, so people leave. I don't know any good alternatives to this site, though. I do get a strong sense that this site's being dominated by people who have difficulty with English. I don't think they read requests at all. Maybe they can't. It's an interesting psychology in itself. Majority of these people live in counties where Christian religion is a religion of minority, where it's often it's attacked, where Christians are discriminated against. They themselves officially aren't Christians. And yet they come here. It's quite interesting come to think of it. Why? What do other religions think of Christianity?
But anyway, back to your being disconcerted by how prayer requests are handled here. I think, all we can do is try to make the difference in that respect. Those of us who come to genuinely pray, to offer support and to seek support, easily see each other and can offer each other support. Whenever I wrote personal replies to people's posts offering some advice, I never received any replies. I don't think some people even read the replies they're receiving. It's discouraging, but I don't suppose it's a reason for giving up.

It is frustrating, you take time to post something, and it gets overlooked, but someone else posts something more "simplistic",and they get several replies. Which makes me think that if I post something with "depth" they don't quite know how to handle it,but a "simplistic" request , they feel more comfortable with . Just a theory...
