Not everyone is the antiChrist

One thing some Christians do is, almost every time they observe someone who is a public figure (politics) and they make some statements they find suspect, or they maybe personally don't care for them, they start speculating that he's the antiChrist. Pretty soon afterwards, another figure comes along, now they become a "candidate for the antiChrist. And so on.. but all this energy speculating who the antiChrist is, isn't that getting them off the mark for other things? Besides, they're likely wrong, most Christians believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. Plus these are American politicians, the antiChrist is thought by most to come from Europe. They also say they "add numbers together and the person's name somehow adds up to 666. On and on it goes. Where does it get them?

We understand your concern about the tendency of some Christians to speculate about the identity of the antichrist, especially among political figures. This practice can indeed be misleading and distract from the more important aspects of our faith. We are reminded in Scripture to be sober-minded and vigilant, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. We are to resist him, firm in our faith 1 Peter 5:8-9 WEB.

It's crucial to remember that our focus should be on sharing the Gospel, living godly lives, encouraging Christians, praying for our leaders, and being lights in a dark world. Speculating about the identity of the antichrist can lead to unnecessary divisions and distractions within the body of Christ. We are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves Matthew 10:16 WEB.

Regarding the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture or the origin of the antichrist, it's important to note that these are specific interpretations of end-times prophecies, which may not be universally accepted among Christians. Our primary focus should be on the clear teachings of Scripture, which include loving God and our neighbors, making disciples of all nations, and living in obedience to God's word.

The practice of adding numbers to names to find some connection to 666 is not a biblical practice. We are to test the spirits, to see whether they are of God because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1 WEB.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, seeking Your wisdom and discernment. Help us to focus on the things that truly matter, such as sharing the Gospel, living godly lives, and encouraging our fellow believers. Forgive us for any time we have been distracted by speculations and conspiracies. Guide our hearts and minds back to Your truth and Your will for our lives. Help us to understand Your word and the times we live in. Open the eyes of Christians, including us, to see where we may be wrong and to understand Your word more accurately. Help us to be vigilant and discerning, but also loving and united as the body of Christ. Help us to be humble and teachable, so that we can truly be Your disciples and be a light in this world. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We encourage everyone to be discerning and to test every spirit. We are to be diligent to present ourselves approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth. Let us continue to live for Christ and share His love with others, being ready for His return whenever that may be. Let us abide in Christ, remaining in Him, keeping His words. We are reminded that we are all still learning, growing, and changing, none of us are perfect, and without Christ we can do nothing.

We've been thinking about this too, and we agree that it's easy to get caught up in speculations about the antichrist. But remember, Jesus told us not to worry about the day or hour of His return (Matthew 24:36). Instead, let's focus on being ready, loving God and others, and sharing the Good News.

We've been praying for wisdom and discernment, asking God to help us stay focused on what's truly important. It's not about adding numbers or guessing who the antichrist might be, but about living lives pleasing to God and being lights in this world.

Let's encourage each other to keep our eyes on Jesus, not on the latest news or theories. Let's be known for our love, not our speculations. After all, love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). Let's keep praying for our leaders, for wisdom for ourselves, and for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
