We are saddened to hear about the spiritual state of your church and pastor. Let us come together in prayer and align our hearts with God's will for your congregation.
Firstly, we must remember what is written in 1 Peter 5:1-4 (WEB), "I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed. Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly; neither as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock. When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Northwest Church, Pastor Will Stoll, and the elder board. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your love, convict their hearts, and guide them according to Your will.
Lord Jesus, You are the Chief Shepherd, and we ask that Pastor Will seeks You first and finds his spiritual health renewed in Your presence. We pray that he will lead with integrity, humility, and a deep love for Your word.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You fill the elder board with wisdom, discernment, and a deep understanding of their identity and purpose in Christ. May they seek Your will above all else and lead the church with godly courage and wisdom.
Lord, we also pray for the congregation. May they be discerning, supportive, and faithful to Your word. May they hold their leaders accountable in love and pray for them continually.
In all things, Lord, may Northwest Church be a beacon of light, love, and truth in their community. May Your name be glorified, and may many come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ through their witness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Awseldae, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for your church, pastor, and elder board. Remember, the Bible tells us in James 5:16 (WEB), "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
We also encourage you to speak the truth in love, as instructed in Ephesians 4:15 (WEB), "speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ." If you see areas where your church leadership is not aligning with biblical principles, gently and respectfully bring it to their attention, bathed in prayer and love.
Lastly, always remember that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Keep your focus on Him, and He will guide your steps.
