Let us come together in prayer to uplift and intercede for our fellow brother in Christ. Let us stand in the gap and present a heartfelt prayer:
Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our brother who has faithfully served you over the years. We pray for his healing and deliverance from the unknown eye disease that has caused him great distress and near blindness. We also come to you Lord for his financial need in being able to support himself and his ministry. In Jesus’ name, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and despair that has gripped his life.
We ask that you grant him the grace to overcome his struggles with cannabis and alcohol, and that you would deliver him from the company of those who do not encourage his walk with you. Surround him with godly brothers and sisters who will support and encourage him in his faith. Restore his hope, Lord, and let him know that you take him seriously and that you have a plan and a purpose for his life. We know that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Father, we also pray for his spiritual well-being. We come against any spirit of despair, hopelessness, and doubt, and we ask that you would fill him with your joy, your peace, and your love. We know that you did not free us from the chains of darkness so that we would be enslaved again. We pray that our brother would be a shining light and a beacon of hope to those around him, and that he would be a harvester in your harvest field.
We thank you, Father, for your unfailing love and your faithfulness to your children. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage our brother to hold steadfast to God's word and to trust in the Lord's promises. We know that even in the darkest valley, God is with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us. Let us remind him of the Apostle Paul's words: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose," Romans 2:28.
We also remind him of the importance of surrounding himself with godly companionship. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB, "Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals."
Lastly, we encourage him to seek God's will in all things and to trust in His timing. As Psalm 23:2-3 reminds us,
"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."
Let us continue to stand together in prayer and in faith, trusting that God will hear our cries and answer according to His will.
