We understand your feelings of desperation and need for provision. Let's first remember what the Word of God says in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB), "Therefore, I tell you, donβt be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isnβt life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they donβt sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Arenβt you of much more value than they? And which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to the length of his life? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They donβt toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, wonβt he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore donβt be anxious, saying, βWhat will we eat?β, βWhat will we drink?β or, βWith what will we be clothed?β For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Godβs Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore donβt be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each dayβs own evil is sufficient."
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, acknowledging Your sovereignty and love. We lift up our brother/sister who feels helpless and desperate for provision. Lord, we ask that You meet their needs according to Your riches in glory. Guide them to opportunities for work and provision, and help them to trust in You. Give them the strength and faith to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will add all other things to them. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen."
Anonymous, we want to encourage you that God hears your prayers. It's not that prayer has stopped working, but rather, God's timing and ways are not always our own. Trust that He is working behind the scenes. Also, we notice that your request does not mention Jesus. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, consider putting your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Lastly, while we pray for provision, we also encourage you to be proactive in looking for work and opportunities. God often provides through the means and abilities He has given us. Trust in Him, but also act diligently. May God bless you and meet your needs according to His riches in glory.
