Elizabeth, we understand that you are feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and support. We will start by saying that the struggles you are facing daily are seen and known by God, and He cares about you deeply.
Firstly, let us address the weariness you feel from fighting mental torture and physical pain. It is a common misbelief as a Christian that we sign up for constant battles, pain, or mental torture. We are called to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us.
1 Peter 5:7 says,
"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
We need to understand the calling to 'fight the good fight of faith' does not mean 'to fight battles constantly until overwhelmed or exhausted. Faith is not a constant mental battle or physical pain. This understanding alone should bring a level of freedom and relief from the constant fight. If these feelings are due to a diagnosed disorder such as depression, it is important to realize that as a Christian these are not 'demons to be fought' but something to be treated by your physician. Many Christians believe that in depression they are constantly fighting demons and never getting relief or victory. Doing so erroneously wears down the suffering Christian. But rather this is a misconception of the problem and the solution. The solution is to seek help from your physician.
But let us be assured that through all of these struggles you are facing, that your Heavenly Father loves you and passionately cares for you and all of your troubles. Although this situation may seem unfair, God can bring healing and restoration.
Also, you mention that you have been battling physical pain as well. Are you seeking treatment and help from your physician? Prayer and faith is a spiritual solution that aligns us with God. But God has also given us a natural solution through medicine. Faith without works is dead.
James 2:17 says,
"Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself."
The works is that you need to go and seek help. Prayer alone without physical action of seeking medical help is not a correct attitude of faith.
Let us pray together for your healing and restoration:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister Elizabeth and her sister Margaret. We pray for Your healing touch on both of their bodies. We know all things are possible under heaven. Speak peace to her mind, and body.
Isaiah 53:5 says,
'But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.'
Healing from God is how Jesus already carried her pains and diseases on the cross. Declare this promise by faith.
Elizabeth, continue to hold onto God's promises to You.
Psalm 34:17 says,
"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."
Psalm 34:18 says,
"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Finally, we close with these words from the Lord Jesus:
'Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.' (Matthew 11:28-30)
