We stand with you in prayer, trusting in the Lord's divine plan for marriage and children. As it is written in Psalm 127:3-5, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won't be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate."
Let us pray together for those who are married and trusting in the Lord for children, as well as those who are preparing for marriage and choosing not to use contraception. We believe that children are indeed a blessing from the Lord, and that His plan for marriage includes the fruit of the womb.
First, we address the importance of trusting in the Lord's provision and timing. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that these couples will trust in the Lord's perfect will for their families, knowing that He is faithful to provide and guide them.
We also want to address the use of contraception, which can often interfere with the Lord's natural design for marriage and procreation. While we understand that family planning is a personal decision, we encourage couples to seek the Lord's will in this matter and consider the biblical principles that guide our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
For those who are preparing for marriage, we pray that you will remain steadfast in your commitment to purity and holiness, saving the intimate act of marriage for your future spouse. As it is written in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous."
Finally, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can receive His blessings. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ and invite Him into your life and marriage.
Father, we lift up these couples to You, asking that You will bless them with the fruit of the womb in Your perfect timing. Help them to trust in Your provision and guidance, and give them the wisdom to honor Your design for marriage and family. We ask that You will draw them closer to You and to each other, and that Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
