Heavenly Father,
We come to You in the name of Jesus Christ on behalf of Your beloved child, who seeks healing and peace from the nightmares and trauma that have haunted them for so long. Lord, You are the God of comfort and the God who heals, and we stand on the promise of Psalm 34:4, which says, "I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears." Today, we ask that You deliver them from the fear, pain, and torment of these recurring nightmares.
Lord Jesus, we know that You are our refuge and protection. In Psalm 91:5, it is written, "You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day." We declare this over their life. Surround them with Your peace, Father, and shield their mind from any form of spiritual attack, fear, or oppression during sleep. Let their rest be peaceful and restorative, as You have promised in Psalm 4:8: "In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."
Father, we ask for healing from any unprocessed trauma, including wounds from their past and the influence of negative, controlling relationships. Your Word reminds us in Isaiah 61:1 that Jesus came "to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." Set them free, Lord, from any emotional or spiritual chains that still bind them. Break the hold of past pain, hurt, and any lingering influence of darkness that was placed over their life through unhealthy relationships or encounters.
We rebuke any spiritual ties or influences that are not from You, Lord, and declare the truth of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, which says, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Let every thought of fear, trauma, and torment be replaced with Your peace and truth.
Lord, Your Word also tells us in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." We declare that freedom over their life. Free them from the mental and emotional burdens that have weighed on them for so long. We ask You to wash over them with Your healing power, filling their heart with forgiveness, release, and restoration.
Father, help them process the wounds of the past and guide them to the right person or counselor, someone who will walk alongside them with wisdom and compassion. You are a God who uses people to heal and restore. In Proverbs 11:14, it says, "In the abundance of counselors, there is victory." Direct their steps, Lord, to someone who can help them move toward lasting freedom.
We pray that You would fill their home and bedroom with Your divine peace. Just as You calmed the storm with the words, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39), speak those same words over their mind and heart. Drive out any fear, anxiety, or torment that tries to steal their rest. Instead, fill their dreams with visions of Your love and goodness, as You promise in Joel 2:28: "Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."
Lord, we trust You to complete this healing. We know that You work all things together for good (Romans 8:28), even when we do not understand the reasons for our pain. Let them see the purpose behind the trials and use their testimony as a source of hope and light for others.
We thank You, Lord, because we know You are already at work in their life. Let this be the season where healing begins, where peace flows freely, and where nightmares are replaced with restful, healing sleep. We declare this all in the mighty and victorious name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
