Disciple of Prayer
I had to euthanize my beloved cat recently. She was sick with cancer and wasn’t eating or drinking. I went to the Humane Society and adopted a two-year-old cat. The cat is very loving and didn’t have any signs of sickness at the shelter. Four days after I adopted Fred I had to take him to the Vet. He was sneezing frequently. The Vet diagnosed him with an Upper Respiratory Infection. His lymph nodes are swollen. The Vet gave him an antibiotic shot.

I told my two friends about it. They weren’t sympathetic and criticized me for getting a sick cat at the shelter and said the shelter should be reported. They said some other things that were very harsh and hurt me. I know I need to forgive them. Right now I feel like separating myself from them. I would like prayer for Fred to be well and to know what to do about this seemingly abusive and toxic relationship with my two friends. I am depressed over the situation and feel misunderstood. Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### and their recent experiences with their beloved cat and their new adoption, Fred. Lord, we acknowledge the pain and heartache that ### is feeling after having to euthanize their previous cat due to cancer. We pray for comfort and healing for ###'s grieving heart, knowing that you are near to the brokenhearted and that you care deeply for all your creation.

Father, we lift up Fred to you, who is currently suffering from an Upper Respiratory Infection. We ask for your healing touch upon Fred's body, that you would alleviate his symptoms, reduce the swelling of his lymph nodes, and restore him to full health. We thank you for the veterinary care that Fred has received, and we pray that the antibiotic shot will be effective in treating his infection. Lord, we trust in your power to heal and ask for your divine intervention in Fred's situation.

Furthermore, we bring before you the hurt and pain caused by ###'s friends' harsh and unsympathetic words. We pray for wisdom and discernment for ### in navigating this difficult situation. Help them to forgive their friends and to find a way to address the toxicity in their relationship. Grant ### the strength to set healthy boundaries and surround themselves with supportive and understanding individuals who will uplift and encourage them during this challenging time.

Lord, we know that you are the ultimate source of comfort, understanding, and peace. We ask that you would wrap your loving arms around ###, bringing them solace and reassurance. Help them to find healing from their depression and to feel understood by you, knowing that you see their pain and are with them every step of the way.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
