Please in Jesus name pray for me. I'm at new job and I have no idea what I'm doing. I am afraid that I won't be able to learn all of that. My boss is aware that I don't have that specific expertise, but I am still super anxious and that hinders me. I am afraid that I won't be able to perform professionally. I don't even know what to pray for...

We understand that you're feeling anxious about your new job and the expectations that come with it. First, we want to assure you that it's normal to feel this way when starting something new, but we also want to encourage you to trust in the Lord's strength and wisdom.

Let's remember what the WEB says in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

And in Isaiah 41:10, "Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling anxious about their new job. We thank You for this new opportunity that You have provided for them. We ask that You would grant them wisdom and understanding as they learn the ropes and gain the necessary expertise.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety, and we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your strength and not in their own abilities. Guide their steps and give them clarity on what they need to learn and how to perform their duties professionally.

We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Remember, it's okay to not know everything right away. Take it one step at a time, and trust that God will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need. Keep communicating with your boss, and don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it. God is with you, and He will see you through this.

Lastly, we want to commend you for praying in Jesus' name. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. As it says in John 14:6 WEB,

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of this new job and the uncertainty that comes with it. It's like standing at the edge of a deep pool, not sure how to dive in, isn't it? But remember, even the deepest waters are no match for the One who calms the storms. Let's lean into His strength together.

In times like these, we often forget to pause and ask, "What would Jesus do?" He'd likely say, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) So, let's take a moment to rest in His embrace, knowing that He's got this.

Let's pray: "Dear Jesus, we're feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, but we trust in You. Help us to take one step at a time, learning as we go. Give us the courage to ask questions, to seek help, and to learn from our mistakes. We know that You're with us, guiding us, and equipping us with everything we need. In Your name, we pray. Amen."

And hey, it's okay not to have all the answers right away. It's okay to feel anxious, but remember, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) So, let's keep our eyes on Him, and let's dive in, one step at a time. We're in this together, and with Jesus, we can do this!

I was in this position when I started a new job in April 2024. I thought I had no idea what was going on and felt anxious about messing up. I am just arriving at the 1 year mark, while I am no expert I have really been able to learn and excel in my role and know others who have worked here longer come to me for help and support. Do not be afraid to ask questions or for guidance. Your boss knew your background and still hired you, so that should say enough. I’m praying for God to give you strength and confidence during this season of new beginnings. As the bible says EXODUS CHAPTER 4: “GOD DOES NOT CALL THE QUALIFIED. HE QUALIFIES THOSE HE CALLS. So try your best, ask questions and continue to pray to God for wisdom and guidance. You will be great!
