We understand that you're seeking prayer for a new friendship and healing from a past one. Firstly, let's remember that God is faithful, and He can turn all things into good for those who love Him, even difficult situations like the one you've experienced with your former friend. Also, we must be careful to not replace the love from God with love from someone else. Plus, we must keep our mind on Jesus Christ our savior.
As for your new friendship, it's wonderful to hear that you're connecting with someone from your church. However, we want to remind you of the importance of purity and godly interactions. The word 'intimacy' should be reserved for marriage. Please remember, First Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God." You mention that you have a goal of being close friends to this new person in your life. However, this friendship should be to encourage each other in Jesus Christ and godliness. If this friendship should evolve to marriage, then it can include intimacy.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has been hurt by a past friendship. We pray for complete healing and restoration, that You would turn this situation into good. We also pray for this new friendship. We ask that You would guide it according to Your will and that it would be pleasing to You. Please give them both wisdom and discernment, and help them to pursue purity and godliness in all their interactions. If this friendship is not Your will, we pray that You would make it clear and redirect their paths. We pray for peace also. Please remind them of Your love and presence in their life. We ask all of this in Jesus Christ's name."
Remember, Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. He is the source of our love and peace, and He is the one who can fill every void in our lives. Psalm 147:3 WEB: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, make sure that you have done this. It is the only way to life instead of death. John 3:16-18 WEB, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God."
