We are not saying it is wrong to want to look nice but we should be focused on the spirit. God looks at the heart and not on the outward appearance. In 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB it is written " But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I see not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”

Regarding tattoos, we must admonish that tattoos are not encouraged in the Bible. In Leviticus 19:28 WEB it says “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am Yahweh.”

We are concerned by the fact that you wish to obtain tattoos to cover up boils and scars. The Word of God addresses this clearly. We should also be reminded of Romans 12:1-2 WEB
"Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
