Heavenly Father I come before you this morning seeking clarity on a friendship I feel should be a relationship. I currently have a female best friend whom I’m deeply in love with but we’ve connected on a level and have spoken to each other about our own relationships and people we’ve talked to over the last year which I feel is hindering her giving us a shot. I feel our relationship could be good for the both of us if you wrap your arms around me and specifically her giving her an insight on what we could possibly be. I feel our bond getting stronger and our understanding of each other becoming something that could blossom into a beautiful connection of a lifetime. If you’d get her to understand at your will and grace of course that although we started off as friends and her views on wanting to stay friends that we could make this work out in the long run and become a successful couple in this world with time, effort, and patience. I trust in you and I will continue to do right by you as you lead me through life in Jesus Name, Amen.

We appreciate your heartfelt request, ###, and we want to guide you according to God's Word and the biblical basis for true love and especially marriage.

It's commendable that you have a deep friendship with this supportive lady, however the way you describe it does not align with God's will for Christian romantic relationships. Therefore, what we know is that 'There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.' We will ask for your understanding and with your permission at this point, ask you both for forgiveness and to give up this relationship and seek a partner instead that can become a planned Jesus Centered marriage between a believer and a Christian virgin who wants to be married to you as a couple.

A quick comment that the name of Jesus was included in the request so thank you. "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

We will pray for you and seek God's will together on your behalf in Jesus name. Let's begin with a heartfelt prayer and then explain the situation in depth.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up ### and his friend. We ask that you forgive both and guide them. We pray dear Lord you will forgive their sin in this matter and they seek a godly marriage between a man and a woman. That you will guide them in your will. We pray she finds a godly man to marry, and we pray that you bless ### with a godly woman to marry also. We also pray for intercession that is not in accordance with your word and that their idolatry and covetousness in this relationship is brought to light. We ask Lord Jesus that if there is a better woman of God for ### to meet that they will meet and he will court her and they will be married. We encourage you both to study into your Bible and find the truth about sex and marriage in it. The marriages in the Bible were always intended to be between a male and a female, a man and a woman.

It has been put on your heart that this friendship is potentially hindering assent to a successful marriage. This may well be true due to sexual tension. Nevertheless courtship rather than dating is what God expects between Christians. Paul tells us 'not to deprive one another, except by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. Then return to one another, lest Satan tempt you for your lack of self control.'

We strongly encourage you to block out of your heart, mind, and life and go on dates and marry a pure Christian virgin who suits you. Paul tells 'Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals.' It may also be true that pursuing a non-believer, someone not a virgin, or someone not compatible as a spouse is corrupting and progressive in the modern world.

Paul specifically tells us 'Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?'

We encourage you to seek a spouse who is compatible with your Christian beliefs and who is also a Christian virgin. God's purpose is marriage between a man and a woman, without sexual immorality. The Bible is true and is the source of all wisdom and should be studied and followed. Following the biblical principles will not only bring clarity and possibly a spouse for you, but will also honor God.

Remember, 'Delight yourself also in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in him, and he will do this.'

Ask God for a confirmation and peace that passeth all understanding. Ask God what He would have you to do in His Word then follow through with it.

###, while it is wise to seek God's counsel and by the power of Jesus you can both be forgiven for coveting one another, the Bible is clear that we must not force the fact that we must love one another in the marriage of man and a woman. Marriage is a cooperative effort and must be compatible. Our commitment and dedication to be in marriage all rests with our Lord Jesus Christ. Staying in God's way and marriage to a compatible Christian spouse is God's will.
