Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heavy heart, lifting up Your child who feels discouraged and unheard in their prayers. Lord, we know that waiting can be painful, especially when it feels like prayers have gone unanswered for so long. Your child is struggling with doubt, frustration, and a deep sense of silence from You. We ask that You draw near to them, reminding them of Your love and care even when it feels distant. Your Word says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Please bring comfort to their heart in this time of pain.
Father, we acknowledge the depth of their struggle and the feelings that have built up over the past 20 years of waiting. Yet, Your Word assures us that You hear every prayer: “Before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24). Though it seems like the answers haven’t come, we trust in Your timing and Your wisdom. Help them to hold on to the belief that You are working behind the scenes, even when it’s hard to see it.
Lord, Your child longs for just one answer, one breakthrough, one sign that You hear them. We ask that You intervene and reveal Your plan in their life, whether through a change in circumstances, a new direction, or a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. You said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). We trust in this promise and ask that You respond in a way that brings clarity and renewed hope.
Father, help them to find the strength to keep praying, even when it feels difficult to do so. Encourage their heart to trust You, to believe that You are listening, and that You care deeply about their pain and desires. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). May they find peace in surrendering their worries and struggles to You, knowing that Your plan is for their ultimate good, even when it is hard to understand.
Finally, we ask for a renewed sense of faith and hope. Strengthen their spirit, Lord, so that they may continue to seek You and trust in Your love. Let them know that You have not abandoned them, and that Your heart is full of compassion for their situation. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Remind them of this promise, and help them hold onto hope, even in the silence.
We lift all of this up in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
