The city said: “Sit down.”
God said: “Get up on the housetops.”
The city said: “Shut up.”
God said: “Shout aloud.”
The city said: “Speak smooth 'positive' things.”
God said: “Tell My people about their rebellion.”
The city threw me down in her streets and said: “Let the LORD be glorified.”
BUT GOD said: “They will be the ones put to shame.”

“…it will be measured back to you.”
Acts 3:26, NLT: When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.
The real blessing is wrought through true repentance, which includes turning away from sin. Howbeit, when the blessing of repentance is rejected by a city, likewise is rejected are all those things that would have been added to her: Even more important, God’s anger is kindled because she not only rejected the messenger and the message; but, as in aforetimes, also punished the messenger.
“But look! Believe it or not, there’ll be survivors.” [MSG]
While there was so much more that I wanted to say in this post, about my personal experiences in this city; the above text has been predominant in my spirit mind in recent weeks. Besides, God knows, and His vindication has already begun. Moreover, He spoke into my hearing saying of a city who chose to walk in the harlotrous idolatry of empty ritual, rather than heed the message of repentance, regarding this prediction, “My 'Word' is sufficient.”
Ezekiel 14:22 Yet there will be some survivors—sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought on it.
Ezekiel 16:58 You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the LORD. 59 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant. 60 Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. 61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger. I will give them to you as daughters, but not on the basis of my covenant with you. 62 So I will establish my covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD. 63 Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and NEVER AGAIN OPEN YOUR MOUTH because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign LORD.
My mother, when tested of God, through the sword - her daughter, cried out to Him, I bore witness. I do believe she passed that test, and is counted among the wheat. This city, my hometown, not so much.
