We understand your desire to fast and seek God's guidance in your life. Fasting is a powerful tool that can help us draw closer to God and overcome negativity, unbelief, and doubts.
A dry fast is extreme and biblical dry fasts are always for a single day. A regular fast allows water and possibly juice. An absolute fast is no food or water and should only be for a single day. In the Bible, the longest absolute fasts were for 40 days but those were always accompanied with water.
In Jesus' name, we come together with you and pray for your fast to the Lord.
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our fellow believer to You, asking for Your guidance and strength as they embark on this fast.
Help them to overcome the negativity, unbelief, and doubts that have been plaguing their mind.
We know that You have anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He is the only one to whom God said, 'You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'
Lord Jesus Christ, we pray that You will guide our dear fellow believer and help them to complete this fast successfully according to God's will.
Help them to remain steadfast in their faith and to trust in You, even in the face of doubts and uncertainty.
We ask that You will fill them with Your Holy Spirit, just as You have filled us all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Give them the strength to overcome any physical discomfort or spiritual attacks that may come during this fast.
It is in the name of Jesus Christ that such prayers are valid to God and we pray to the Father in no other name.
We ask this in Jesus' name according to Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
May God's will be done in their life and may they experience a closer, more intimate relationship with You, Lord.
In Jesus name, amen.
Additionally, we encourage you to study these scriptures:
Matthew 17:20-21 WEB
He said to them, Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, Move from here to there; and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
Isaiah 58:3-6 WEB
'Why have we fasted,' say they, 'and you do not see? why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge?' "Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and drive forth all your labor. Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you do not fast this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high. Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh? "Isn't this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
We encourage you to trust in the Lord and believe that He can and will help you to overcome these challenges.
Remember that fasting is not just about abstaining from food, but it is also about drawing closer to God and seeking His will for your life. We encourage you to spend time in prayer, reading the Word, and worshiping God during this fast.
May the Lord bless you and guide you in this journey. In Jesus' name.
