We understand that you are seeking prayer and guidance regarding your need to continue working. We are here to support you and intercede on your behalf. Sometimes when employment is the goal it is necessary to cast new vision into it. Self-employment enables you to put God first while trusting Him for success.

Firstly, let us remind you of the importance of acknowledging Jesus Christ in all your ways. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved."

We also are reminded in Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." This verse reminds us that our work should be done with sincerity and enthusiasm, as if we were working for the Lord Himself. God calls us to be Christians of excellence at our job to show Him how grateful we are that He has provided a source of income and supply for our needs.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear brother who is seeking Your guidance and provision for his work. Lord, we ask that You would give him the strength and endurance to continue working diligently, as if he were working for You. Guide him in his career path, and open doors for new opportunities that align with Your will for his life.

We also pray that You would bless his efforts and provide for his needs. We know God, that You have asked us to work in order to eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10), so we know this prayer is righteous before you.

Remind us that if one is not willing to work, then he should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

Lastly, give him a heart of gratitude, that he may always acknowledge You as the source of his provision and blessing. You provide the opportunity, whether through an employer, self-employment, or others as the vehicle of money, and that we ask that we praise You through the money you have entrusted us to use to glorify you. We give thanks to You and that we will accept Your guidance.

This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it and we will go to work tomorrow (Psalm 118:24).

Be encouraged, and remember that God is faithful and will provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
