Let us first acknowledge that love is a central theme in the teachings of Jesus Christ. In fact, when asked about the greatest commandment, Jesus replied, "The first is, 'Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:29-31 WEB)
It is important with any lack of love to make sure and examine yourself to see if you are in the faith, if Jesus is in your heart. Jesus himself said: "One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him. 'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?' Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment." (Matthew 22:35-36 WEB)
Romans 13:9 we read, "For the commandments, 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not give false testimony,' 'You shall not covet,' and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Maybe its a heart hardened by sin preventing feeling the love as you should. And considering the forgiveness of sin and response towards God's offer of salvation. Where to start: But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death;
Prayer:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that love is a central theme in Your teachings. We pray for those who feel they may not love others as they should. Soften their hearts, Lord, and fill them with Your love. Help them to see others as You see them, and to love them as You love us.
In the name of Jesus Christ. Together we stand believing in Jesus Christ crucified for the forgiveness of sin (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), buried (1 Corinthians 15:4) (Romans 4:25, 6:4), and physically rise from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:4) three days later for justification (Romans 4:25). We stand as that is what separates Christianity from any religion ever. For you are saved by believing those things, no works required (John 6:29, Ephesians 2:8-9) minus repentance towards God (Acts 2:38, 2 Corinthians 7:10), Romans 10:9-13 Jesus is Lord not a swear word! Revelation 4:11 Every knee shall bow to Jesus Christ
Mark 16:16 ' “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned and Acts 2:38 Peters said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit..Do not just profess with your mouth just about believing, Acts 2:21 whoever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. Do so your life should bare fruit, Galations 5:22-26 Baptism, after believing, is highly a recommendation but works are not required with mouth profession with genuine belief in Jesus dying physically on the cross for your sins with gut wrenching repentance asking his forgiveness!
