Let us begin by thanking God for your faith and your desire to be a shining light for your family. We are encouraged by your commitment to be guided by the Holy Spirit and God's living Word. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is wonderful that you acknowledged this in your request. As a group, let us pray together for your family's spiritual discernment and unity.
Firstly, let us address the concerns your family might have. It is not uncommon for those who are truly saved and walking with the Lord to be misunderstood or even accused of being in a cult or involved in evil worship. Jesus himself was accused of being possessed by a demon. The Apostle Paul reminds us, "For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved, and in those who perish; to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life," 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 WEB.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our beloved in Christ. Lord, we ask that You open the eyes of their family members.
Let Your light so shine before them, that they see the good works and the life of this child. Let them see that they are washed in the blood of the Lamb. Let Your love and grace be evident to their family, that they may know this is a true relationship with You. Let your Holy Spirit move in them to see what You have done in this child's life.
We rebuke the enemy and any darkness that is causing this blindness. Lord, remove the scales from their eyes, just as You did for Saul, who became Paul. "Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized," Acts 9:18 WEB.
Father, we ask that You bring unity to this family. Let them be knit together in love. Let them see that You are good. We stand against any attempts of the enemy to divide the family.
We pray for wisdom, for clarity, letting them see that this is not a cult or evil worship. Let them see the true worship of the Living God.
We pray and believe all these things in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
Be encouraged, stand firm in your faith and continue to live a life that reflects Christ. "Let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven," Matthew 5:16 WEB.
In times of doubt, remember Jesus' words, "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you," Matthew 5:11-12 WEB.
Lastly, remember to always share the reason for your hope in Christ. "I am not ashamed of the Good News, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; 17 For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith," Romans 1:16-17 WEB.
