We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles with overeating, unhealthy food choices, and the challenges you're facing with your daughter's illness, caring for your grandmother, and recovering from surgery. We are here to pray with you and offer biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we want to acknowledge your acknowledgement of God. Yet we are concerned that you made no mention of Jesus Christ or his name. Let us remember that God has highly exalted him, and given him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 WEB, Therefore, let us make sure we call on him in the name of Jesus Christ. Remember it is only by his name that we have access to God. Not only that but let us remember Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have never believed in him as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to confess your sin and believe in him. Feel free to ask more about this if you want more information.
In light of your struggles, we are reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. This means that while you may feel overwhelmed, God is always providing a way out of temptation.
Regarding your struggles with food, the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB, Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. This means that even our eating and drinking should be done in a way that honors God. Overeating and indulging in unhealthy foods can be a form of idolatry, putting the pleasure of food above obedience to God.
We also want to address the anger and worry you're experiencing. Romans 12:2 WEB tells us, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. This means that with God's help, you can renew your mind and overcome these negative emotions.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### and her struggles. We pray for your strength and comfort as she cares for her daughter and grandmother, and recovers from surgery. We ask that you help her to overcome her struggles with overeating and unhealthy food choices, and that you renew her mind to overcome anger and worry.
We pray that you would reveal to her and remind her of the way of escape from her temptations and fill her with your peace and presence today. We pray that you would be glorified in every part of her life, including her eating and drinking.
We ask this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Remember, God is with you and will help you overcome these struggles. Trust in him and lean on his strength. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Please continue to seek God and his will for your life, and don't hesitate to reach out for support from fellow believers. We are here to help and pray with you.
