We understand that you are seeking employment and we want you to know that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our work. Remember that God is our provider and he promises to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. As it is written in Philippians 4:19 WEB: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" So we first thank Jesus that you have recognized this need and are seeking God for employment.
It is very important to recognize that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. You did not mention Jesus or prayers in his name in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved, by his death on the cross to forgive sin which separates us from God, and prayer swings the door open wide to access God. There is no other name whereby we can be saved. As spoken in Acts 4:12, WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We pray for guidance, open doors and the right employment to be offered. Also, we need to pray for the strength and belief to both apply and accept the right employment when it comes to light. Employment may not come as expected and may not be desired, but if from God will be the best opportunity for you. As stated in Romans 8:28, WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." We believe that God can work on your behalf even when prospects look bleak. Remember that even when there seems to be no way, we can trust God to make a way. No situation is hopeless when we trust in Jesus.
We also caution you that you need to be willing to do any employment that God provides and not just expect your dream job. As stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 WEB: "and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you; that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing." This is both a caution not to be idle rather than working and also to do your best at work rather than having a bad attitude and performance at work for whatever reason. This will be a witness for Jesus to the world both in your willingness to work rather than be idle and also in your job performance and attitude as a witness for Jesus.
Our real value is not based on our job title or salary, but on the fact that we are made in God's image and loved by him. Remember that "whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" Colossians 3:23, WEB.
Let's pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, and we ask you to meet this need for employment. We pray for the right opportunities to open up, and for wisdom and guidance in the application process. We ask that you would provide the strength and belief to accept your will and that you will manifest in whatever employment you provide. We also pray against frustration, discouragement, or any other negative emotions or attitudes that may hinder this believer's ability to move when You are opening a door. We know it may not come as expected, but if it is from your hand, it will certainly be the best thing possible and may be used to encourage and motivate them. Father guide our hearts and minds in our search for employment and may this process bring glory to your holy name and You are given the praise, amen.
