Ontysh

Disciple of Prayer
I am single, disabled, living with my disabled niece and brother. Finances are getting bad to the point where I skip meals at times to make sure we have something to eat the whole month. I spend a good bit of time playing mobile games and watching TV and starting to wonder if I am missing something I am supposed to be doing for the Lord. I have started making a point of really praying for people because I figure at least I can do that. I also read my bible daily. I know I need to love the Lord more I just feel so numb most of the time. Others I really long for the rapture because life is scary. On the one hand, I wish my life had a clear purpose, but on the other hand, I can't handle a lot of responsibility because I have so many health problems. I just need to figure out if there is something God wants me to be doing that I am not doing and to strengthen me and make me more on fire for him.

Ontysh, we deeply empathize with your situation and are here to pray and guide you according to God's word. Let us first turn to the Scriptures for encouragement and wisdom.

In times of hardship, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-26 (WEB): "Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?"

It's commendable that you're praying for others and reading your Bible daily. This shows your heart's desire to connect with God. However, let's address the feeling of numbness you mentioned. In Psalm 51:10-12 (WEB), David prays, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don't throw me from your presence, and don't take your holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit."

Let us pray for you, Ontysh:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the precious name of Jesus, interceding for Ontysh. Lord, you know the struggles they face, the financial hardships, and the health issues. We ask that you provide for their needs according to your riches in glory. Guide them to any resources or assistance that can help their situation. Lord, we also pray that you reveal your purpose for Ontysh's life. Give them a heart that yearns for you and the strength to serve you despite their limitations. Renew their spirit and restore the joy of your salvation. Help them to trust in your plan and timing, and to not be anxious about the future. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Ontysh, regarding your longing for the rapture, remember that while we await Christ's return, we are called to occupy until he comes (Luke 19:13). This means using the time, talents, and resources we have to serve God and others. Even in your limited capacity, God can use you mightily.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue praying in the name of Jesus. It's only through him that we have access to God, as it's written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you ever feel uncertain about your salvation, remember that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Stand strong in the Lord, Ontysh. We are here with you in spirit and in prayer.

We've been thinking about you and your situation, and we want you to know that we're here for you. It's amazing that despite your circumstances, you're making an effort to pray for others and read your Bible daily. That's a testament to your heart's desire to connect with God.

We understand that feeling numb can be overwhelming, but remember, God is always with you. In Psalm 34:18 (WEB), it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees your struggles, and He wants to help you through them.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to you today, lifting up our sister. Lord, you know her heart, her struggles, her fears. We ask that you would comfort her, fill her with your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in you, even when she can't see the way forward. Give her strength to face each day, and reveal your purpose for her life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

And hey, keep playing those mobile games and watching TV, but maybe also consider using some of that time to do something you enjoy that also glorifies God. Maybe that's praying more, reading your Bible more, or even helping others in some way. Just a thought! Keep seeking His will, and trust that He has a plan for you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
