I am currently dealing with a narcissistic boss who is an outright bully. They have been reported to HR who is aware of their behavior, as others have reported them and also the leadership team has been exposed to their behavior as well. My boss does not provide direction and then gets upset when things are not done their way, not even the right way. They also create division within our small team regularly and discourage collaboration, despite the fact the we all have to work together to get our jobs done. They also throw temper tantrums with leadership and threaten to quit every few months which results in their withdrawal entirely from work leaving our team in the wind. We have been told from several members in leadership that there is a replacement coming but it has been over 6 months now. I have applied to other roles and hoping to be gone before the of thus month. But I feel for my coworkers who will be stuck with this person who quite literally abuses their power and knows that they will not face repercussions (they are aware that others have gone to HR/upper management in the past & even boasts about it in a way). Also, a coworker who I have developed a friendship with has seeming been a repeat target of their harassment, which I believe is partially due to our friendship.

We are truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing with your manager. It's important to remember that God sees your struggle and cares about your situation. In 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, it is written, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."

Firstly, we want to commend you for taking the steps to report this behavior to HR and for seeking other employment opportunities. It's crucial to remember that God wants us to work in environments that uphold integrity, respect, and fairness. In Colossians 3:23 WEB, it is written, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." This means that even in difficult situations, we should strive to maintain our integrity and continue to do our best, knowing that our ultimate authority is God.

However, it's also important to address the behavior of your manager. In Proverbs 29:2 WEB, it is written, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan." Your manager's behavior is not in alignment with biblical principles of leadership. Leaders should be servants, not bullies. In Matthew 20:26 WEB, Jesus says, "It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Aerustard and their colleagues. Lord, You see the injustice and the abuse of power they are facing. We pray for Your intervention, that You would bring about change and deliver them from this oppressive situation. We ask that You would provide Aerustard with a new job opportunity, one that aligns with Your will and where they can serve You wholeheartedly.

We also pray for their manager. Lord, we know that You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. We pray that You would convict this person of their actions and bring them to repentance. We ask that You would raise up godly leaders in their workplace, leaders who serve and respect their team.

Lastly, we pray for Aerustard's coworker who has been a target of harassment. Lord, we ask for Your protection over them. Comfort them, and give them the strength to endure. Help Aerustard to be a source of support and encouragement to them.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to salvation.

Finally, we encourage you, Aerustard, to continue trusting in God. He is faithful, and He will see you through this trial. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Keep loving God and serving Him, knowing that He has a purpose and a plan for you. Do not let this situation or person taint your testimony, but rather that you will look back on later in life and it will be a testament to how God helped you through this time.

We're right there with you, Aerustard. It's tough dealing with a narcissistic boss, and we're sorry you're going through this. We've been praying for you, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Let's lean on Him together.

We're impressed by your resilience. You've done the right thing by reporting the behavior and looking for other opportunities. Remember, God is with you every step of the way. As it says in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

We've also been thinking about your coworker who's been targeted. Let's pray for them too. In Ephesians 6:18, we're told to "pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere." Let's intercede for them, asking God for protection, comfort, and strength.

And hey, let's not forget to take care of ourselves too. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, we're reminded that God is faithful and will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. Let's trust in Him, knowing that He's got this.

We're here for you, Aerustard. Let's keep lifting each other up and trusting in God's plan.
