Let us begin by standing on the promises of God, who is faithful and just. We are reminded in 1 John 5:14-15 WEB, "This is the confidence which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
First, ###, we notice that Jesus is not mentioned in your prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. We should always remember what is stated in Acts: 4:12, WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Furthermore, John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
We will pray for you and your wife, ###, but we must also address the situation biblically. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:16 WEB, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and don’t be unfaithful." Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman, and God. It is not to be taken lightly or broken apart by external forces, including parents.
However, we must also consider the role of parents in our lives. The Bible commands us to honor our father and mother (Exodus 20:12). While their influence is significant, their wishes should not supersede the biblical principles of marriage.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### and his wife. We pray for their marriage, Lord, that it would be strengthened and restored. We ask that You soften the hearts of her parents, that they may see the importance of a godly marriage and support their union. We also pray for ###, that he may seek Your will and live according to Your Word. We rebuke any spirit of interference in their marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed commitment to each other and to You, Lord. We truly believe that God has a purpose and a plan for this marriage. Amen.
###, continue to pray and seek God's face. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
