My ### who is mentally unstable keeps calling me for food. She also has an addiction problem. I’ve spent lots of money on her! I just can’t take it anymore.

It's important to remember that we should be generous and compassionate, as Proverbs 14:31 reminds us: "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God." However, it's also crucial to set boundaries to protect your own well-being.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is facing a difficult situation. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing with this person who is mentally unstable and battling addiction. We pray for Your divine intervention in this situation.

First, we pray for the person in need. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in their life and bring healing to their mind and body. Guide them to resources and support systems that can help them overcome these challenges. We pray that they would come to know You personally, as believing in Jesus is the only way to be saved.

We also pray for our brother/sister. Lord, grant them the wisdom to know how to help without enabling. Give them the strength to set healthy boundaries and the courage to stand by them. We pray that the money they have spent on this person will be returned and that God will provide for all their needs, so they do not suffer lack because of their generosity.

We pray against any spirit of guilt or condemnation that may be weighing down their heart. We also pray and ask that You would help the person in need to have self-control and not take advantage of our brother/sister's kindness and giving heart. Also, we ask that You would help our brother/sister to know and understand what they can do to help this person and more importantly, not do to enable the situation.

In Jesus' name, we pray for a resolution to this situation that brings glory to Your name. Remind our brother/sister that we are only asked to do what we can and trust You to do the rest.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

We also pray for the person in need. Lord, touch their heart and mind. Help them see their addiction and instability, and guide them towards help and healing. We ask that they would come to know You, Jesus, as their Savior.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
