We are glad to pray with you but first let us understand a few things.
It is natural to have feelings for someone, but it is important to handle these feelings in a way that honors God. First, let us remember that God's design for relationships is clear.
There are a couple of verses we want to mention and encourage you with.
First, In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB it says Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man can do, such as the eye, outside the body. But whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Second, In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB it says:
casting down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Third, In Matthew 5:27-28 WEB:
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
We also want to address that we only have access to God through the name of Jesus Christ. We should end all of our prayers with In Jesus Name. Jesus is the only way we can be saved. Let us explain.
In John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Also, in Acts 4:10-12 WEB:
be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’ There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
We also would like to remind you that we should be equally yoked with other believers in Christ and our goal should be marriage when we are adults, not dating. God is clear that we should not be involved sexually or intimately with another person outside marriage. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB it says:
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
We encourage you not to be focused on worldly things such as a crush. In Colossians 3:2 WEB it says:
Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
Let us pray together with you.
Heavenly Father, we ask that you help this young lady to keep her mind focused on you. We pray that you would give her strength to flee sexual immorality, and to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. We pray that you would guide her and help her to set her mind on things above. We ask that you would help her to see her body as a temple of the Spirit and to honor you in all that she does. We pray that you would guide her relationships and help her to be in the world, and not of it.
We pray that if it is your will that this young lady would begin to build a Godly relationship that would result in a Godly marriage someday. We ask all of these things in Jesus name.
