My ### year old isn’t speaking

I have a ### year old son, and he hasn’t spoken much. To be honest I don’t know if it’s autism or it’s just him not ready to talk. We have early intervention seeing him and he is making progress with some things, just not talking. I know that God has given me my child for a reason and if he is autistic I will everything in my power to get him all the help he needs and be a voice for the autistic community because I feel that people with autism are misunderstood. I do pray that my son starts speaking soon, and even though he’s struggling now I can’t wait for him to be a little chatterbox, Praise God, Praise Jesus!!!

Let's remember God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a purpose and a plan for your son's life, and He is faithful to reveal it in His perfect timing.

We commend your commitment to supporting your son, regardless of any challenges he may face. As believers, we are called to be a voice for the voiceless and to embrace all of God's children, including those with special needs. Proverbs 31:8-9 (WEB) reminds us to "Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."

Let us pray together for your son and your family:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up ###'s son to You. Lord, You know his needs and the desires of his mother's heart. We ask that You would grant him the ability to speak, so that he may communicate and express the thoughts and emotions that fill his young heart.

God, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for the doctors and specialists involved in his care. Guide them as they work with him, and help them to identify any underlying conditions that may be hindering his speech development.

Lord, we ask for patience and perseverance for ### and her family as they support her son. Surround them with Your love, and grant them the strength and grace needed to face each day with hope and trust in You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He hears your prayers and has a plan for your son's life. We encourage you to meditate on Romans 8:26-28 (WEB), reminding you that the Spirit intercedes for us, and that "all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."

As you continue to pray, remember the power of praying in Jesus' name. As Jesus taught in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it." Keep praying and believing in the name of Jesus, for He is our source of hope and salvation.
