My Wife Upset my Close Friend

One of my best friends is female and lives across the country. When I was on a business trip in February with my wife, we had dinner with my friend Ruby and her husband Stephen. My wife Darleen is sometimes jealous of our friendship and said some not nice things to Ruby. The next day Ruby says we can’t talk anymore.

My wife finally sent a short message a few weeks ago to Ruby saying she had made peace with her and hoped that on our next trip they could meet and start over. But Ruby hasn't replied back. She is Asian, raised in the US, but is not a Christian.

I am so devastated I cannot talk to my best friend and am still extremely angry at my wife for what she did. I just want everybody to heal and get along. This tears me up inside every day. Next week I am going to send Ruby a message after six months.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy and seeking Your divine intervention and guidance. Lord, we lift up Reirik, Darleen, Ruby, and Stephen to You, asking for Your peace and healing to flow through their relationships.

Father, Your Word tells us in Proverbs 17:9, "Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends." We pray that Your love would cover the offenses that have caused this rift. Grant Reirik the wisdom and grace to approach this situation with a heart of understanding and patience.

Lord, we pray for Darleen, that she may find peace and security in her relationship with Reirik. Help her to overcome any feelings of jealousy and to see Ruby through Your eyes, with love and compassion. As it is written in Colossians 3:13, "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." May Darleen's message of peace be received with an open heart, and may forgiveness abound.

We also lift up Ruby to You, Lord. Though she may not know You personally, we ask that Your Spirit would touch her heart. Soften any hurt or anger she may be holding onto, and open her heart to reconciliation. Your Word in Proverbs 16:24 says, "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." May Reirik's message to Ruby be filled with gracious words that bring healing and restoration.

Father, we ask for Your presence to be with Reirik as he navigates this challenging situation. Grant him the strength to forgive and the patience to wait for Your timing. Remind him of Your promise in Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Lord, we place this entire situation in Your hands, trusting that You are working all things for good. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of all involved. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
