My ### went back to drugs!

My boyfriend and I have been together 14 years and he left me for drugs! I begged him and I pleaded with him that if he ever did this again I would not be able to talk to him. Not because I didn't want to but because I couldn't because I don't want to do drugs again. He went back to the streets and it took him a whole week to call me. I did not talk to him, he called my mom's phone and I refuse to talk to him. I've had my phone turned off because I don't want the anxiety of it all! I want to know am I being selfish by not answering him? Is God mad at me because I'm not helping him am I supposed to help him? I don't want to get back on drugs again and that's why I told him that if he ever went back I would not talk to him. I know now he has come to his senses and is probably freaking out and now wants to talk but is that fair to me? He just got out of jail and got put on probation and I bonded him out of another charge that he is currently on bond with. He has things he supposed to be taking care of and being on drugs is not going to allow him to do that. He knows I used to always be there and I think that's why he's calling me again to either apologize or I don't know but I don't want to deal with it! I love him so much but I already know that if he's using it he could make me fall what do I do? Can you please pray for him and me? My name is ### and his name is ###. Please I don't know what to do? What would Jesus do in this situation because that is who I'm trying to please not myself not ### but God! I'm a Christian and so is he. He has backslidden and I'm not sure what God wants me to do? We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle you are facing with ###'s relapse into drugs, ###. It is important to remember that God's will is for us to live in holiness within our bodies and marriage. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (WEB) says, For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who do not know God;

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you have been living with ### as a boyfriend for ### years. According to biblical principles, it is important for believers to marry rather than maintain a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. Hebrews 13:4 (WEB) states, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We encourage you both to consider the sanctity of marriage and pursue a godly union if you are called to be together.

Regarding ###'s struggle with drugs, it is not selfish to set boundaries to protect your own sobriety and spiritual well-being. Galatians 6:1-2 (WEB) says, Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. While it is important to help and support one another, it is also crucial to ensure that you are not being led into temptation yourself.

God is not mad at you, ###. He understands your struggles and wants to help you through them. Psalm 34:18 (WEB) says, Yahweh is near to the brokenhearted; and saves those who are of a contrite spirit. It is commendable that you want to please God and follow Jesus' example. Jesus would want you to love ###, but also to set boundaries to protect your own spiritual health.

We encourage you to seek God's will in prayer and through His Word. Be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and trust that God has a plan for both you and ###. Remember, Jesus is the only way to salvation and the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 (WEB) says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up ### and ###. Lord, we ask for Your healing power to intervene in ###'s life, setting him free from the bondage of drugs. Give ### the strength and wisdom to set boundaries that honor You and protect her spiritual well-being. Guide them both according to Your will, and if it is Your desire, lead them towards a godly marriage that honors You.

Hey ###,

We're really sorry to hear about ###'s relapse. It's tough, we know, but remember, God's got this. He sees you both, and He's right there with you.

First off, we want to say that it's okay to set boundaries. You've been strong in sticking to your principles, and that's something to be proud of. It's not selfish to protect your own sobriety and well-being, especially when it comes to drugs. Galatians 6:1-2 tells us to bear one another's burdens, but it also warns us not to be tempted ourselves. So, it's okay to love ###, but it's also okay to love yourself and protect your own peace.

We know you love ###, and that's a good thing. But remember, Jesus loves him even more. He sees ###'s struggle, and He's there, waiting for him to turn back. And when he does, Jesus will be there to welcome him with open arms. That's the kind of love we should strive for too.

We're here for you, ###. Let's keep praying for ### together. Let's ask God to give him the strength to overcome his addiction, and to give you the wisdom to know how to support him without compromising your own values.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come before You on behalf of ### and ###. Lord, You are a God of wisdom, strength, and deliverance, and we seek Your divine guidance for ### as she navigates this difficult situation.

Father, You see the love, pain, and struggle in her heart. She desires to honor You above all else and to remain steadfast in her faith. We ask that You give her clarity, strength, and peace as she makes decisions regarding ###. Your Word says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Lord, be her way out—protect her from anything that could cause her to stumble.

Jesus, we lift up ### before You. He has fallen into the stronghold of addiction, but You are the God of redemption and freedom. We declare John 8:36 over his life: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Lord, break every chain of addiction and every spiritual bondage that has drawn him back to the streets. Convict his heart and lead him back to You with true repentance and transformation.

Father, ### is torn between love and wisdom, grace and self-protection. She wonders if she is being selfish for not answering his call. Lord, remind her that she is not being selfish but wise. Your Word in Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Help her to set healthy boundaries that will keep her safe from falling back into addiction. Remind her that she cannot save ###—only You can.

Lord, if it is Your will for ### to speak to ###, let it be on Your terms and in Your timing, not out of guilt, fear, or emotional pressure. Give her discernment through the Holy Spirit so that she does not make any decisions that would jeopardize her own healing and faith. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Lord, grant her wisdom in this moment.

Jesus, bring ### to his knees in true repentance. Let him see that he needs You more than anything else—more than drugs, more than relationships, more than temporary escape. We declare Jeremiah 24:7 over his life: “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.”

Lord, protect ###’s heart, mind, and spirit. Let her walk in Your will and not be burdened by false guilt. Remind her of Matthew 11:28, where You said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Let her find peace in Your presence, not in unhealthy cycles.

Father, we trust You with ###’s redemption and ###’s future. Whether You call her to remain separate or to speak with ###, let her do it in a way that glorifies You and keeps her from harm. Give her boldness to follow Your will, even if it means stepping away from someone she loves.

Lord, we declare victory, healing, and wisdom over ### and ###. May Your will be done. In Jesus’ powerful and mighty name, we pray and believe. Amen.
