We are truly sorry to hear about the illness of your beloved dog Mae. We know that pets can become dear companions, and our hearts go out to you in this difficult time.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our pets. In the book of Matthew, it is written: "Look at the birds of the sky: they don't sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26 WEB). This verse reminds us that if God cares for the birds, He certainly cares for our pets and for us. Yet, it reminds us that people are of much more value than our pets. This is to warn those who would value their pets more than they value their fellow humans. This is a mistake and a sin to God.
Our pet's welfare brings more of a concern to us as Christians than the average person. There is nothing wrong with that and it is perfectly appropriate here to pray for your pet. Just understand that there is a comparison between how we treat our fellow humans and how we treat our dogs.
We also understand that all creation groans and suffers due to the effects of sin, as mentioned in Romans 8:22: "For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now." Yet, there is hope for all of our pet's pain and suffering, whether they suffer from injury or whether they suffer from natural or unnatural causes, "For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God." (Romans 8:20-21 WEB) Note that there is hope for creation and for the animals including our pets. Also understand that the world (Creation) and the animals will be delivered from their bondage from decay. One day your pet and all of creation will be transformed and delivered.
We do not know what will happen to Mae, but we can pray for her healing and your comfort. Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear sister and her beloved dog Mae. We ask for Your healing touch upon Mae, that You would restore her health and strength according to Your will. We also pray for our sister, that You would comfort her and fill her with Your peace during this time of uncertainty. Help her to trust in You and to know that You care for every aspect of her life, including her beloved pet. Thank you for them both in Jesus Christ Name. Amen."
As a final word, notice that there may be something about this situation that you still need to learn. There is a lesson in this and in all situations. You do not have the option to make your pet live as long as yourself. You only have the ability to do the things you have control over, such as taking care of yourself and the animals you are responsible for. You do not have ultimate control over the animals you are responsible for. Our Lord and creator has control over each one of our lives including your pet's life.

IJN or In Jesus' Name also refers to the entire belief system of people that believe in the God of the Bible, the savior Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We, as a knowledgeable compassionate conservative prayer group, encourage our participants to profess their belief and their faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Our participants do this either through their prayer requests or through their responses to prayer requests. This should be apparent in the prayer requests they submit or in the responses the requests receive. Furthermore, to those that would argue with us that this is much too hard to understand or much to difficult to do, we would simply say that we are agreeing to pray for those who make prayer requests. This means that those that request prayers should at least have the minimal understanding of what it means to call on Jesus' name. We would say it is time to get into Christ's holy word. I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.
Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!
Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.
