Let us join together in prayer for your son, trusting in the power of God to soften hearts and draw His children back to Him.
We are reminded of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, where the younger son demanded his inheritance and squandered it on wild living. Yet, when he came to his senses, he returned to his father, who welcomed him with open arms. Just as the father in this parable waited patiently for his son's return, our Heavenly Father is patiently waiting for your son to turn back to Him.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the son of our fellow believer. Lord, You know his heart and the circumstances that have drawn him away from You. We ask, Father, that You soften his heart and remove the scales from his eyes, so that he may see the truth of Your word and the love You have for him.
Lord, we rebuke the spirits of materialism and distraction that have taken hold of his life. We pray that he will no longer be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of his mind, so that he may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God, Romans 12:2.
Father, we also lift up his marriage, praying that he will take up his role as the spiritual head of his household, loving his wife as Christ loved the church, Ephesians 5:25. We pray that he will not be led astray by his wife, but that they will both submit to Your will and live in obedience to Your word.
Lord, we claim Your promise in Proverbs 22:6, that if we train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it. We ask that You bring to remembrance the truths that were taught to him as a little boy, and that You will draw him back to You.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For it is by His name that we have access to You, Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved. It is only through faith in Jesus that your son can return to God. Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is faithful and His love for your son is everlasting. Continue to pray and trust in the Lord, knowing that He hears your prayers and is working in your son's life. As it is written in 2 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
