We are truly sorry to hear about the situation with Jarid. We will pray for him and your family during this challenging time.
A time like this can be discouraging and overwhelming, but remember that God loves your boy dearly and gracious for those who repent. We encourage you to consider this scripture regarding Gods love: Jeremiah 31:3: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.”
Before we pray, let us address that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that you can approach God almighty. This privilege is reserved only for his children by adoption through faith. The name gives us access to approach His throne of grace in prayer, take a moment right now and acknowledge that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. If you and Jarid do this, you will have a true Christian belief.
Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6. This is further evidenced by Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Also, if your prayers do have the desired outcome, this does not necessarily mean it was a success. God may have decided withholding an immediate answer may draw Jarid closer, depending on his heart. Trust in the divine plan. Furthermore, Jarid needs to know he has sinned against God. By being incarcerated, this shows that bad choices and behavior result in negative consequences. It helps keep order in society. Positive consequences from choosing God cannot be far behind.
Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God”. Understand that returning to you may not be the success that has been requested. The success me make is when he truly believes and follows Jesus Christ as the lord and savior of his life. True success maybe in following God.
Email us next time with the details of the crime. God is loving and not willing that anyone should perish.
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You, lifting up Jarid to Your throne of grace. We pray firstly for his soul, that he may come to a relationship with you. We ask, Lord, that You would work all things together for good in this situation. We pray for Jarid’s release if it is Your will. Give him another chance to rebuild his life for Your glory. Open opportunities for him to restore his life.
As well, we require trust on your part for Jarid. We ask for wisdom and grace for him and guide me as his parent to guide him. Help me see how best to help Jarid in this situation. Enable me to love and support him as You continually do.
Thank You, God, for hearing our prayers. We ask all this in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to meditate on these verses and use them in your prayers:
Isaiah 43:1-3: “But now thus says Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you. For I am Yahweh your God.'”
Romans 8:28: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.”
Continue to trust in God and pray without ceasing.Have faith in the plan God has for our lives. May Jarid's picture in God's kingdom forever.
