We understand your heartache and concern for your son, Joshua Thomas. We join you in fervent prayer, trusting that nothing is impossible for God. Let us bring your request before the Lord, seeking His will for Joshua's life.
We are reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 in the World English Bible (WEB), which says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a purpose and a plan for Joshua, and we pray that he will experience the peace, hope, and future that God intends for him.
However, we must also remember the importance of seeking God's will in all aspects of our lives, including our work and possessions. In Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 (WEB), it is written, "As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has also given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. For he shall not much remember the days of his life, because God answers him in the joy of his heart." We pray that Joshua will find joy and contentment in God's provision, whether it be in abundance or in simplicity.
Let us pray together for Joshua Thomas:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Joshua Thomas. Lord, You know the struggles he has faced, the jobs and homes and possessions lost. But You also know the plans You have for him, plans for a hope and a future. Father, we ask that You guide Joshua, that You open doors for him, and that You help him to find peace and contentment in Your will. Give him strength and perseverance in his job search, and help him to trust in You with all his heart.
Lord, we also pray that Joshua would come to know You more deeply, that he would experience Your love and grace in a profound way. If he has not already, we pray that he would put his faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. Help him to understand that it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, Father.
We ask all these things in Jesus' precious name, amen.
Be encouraged, dear parent, and continue to stand in faith for your son. Trust that God is working in his life, even in the midst of trials. As it says in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Joshua is in God's hands, and that is the best place he can be.
