Tenlyrr, we are here to lift up your son in prayer and to provide some biblical encouragement during this challenging time. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Firstly, we acknowledge that your son is going through a trial with his back pain and the loss of his wife. This is a time to lean on the power of God to heal both physically and emotionally. We also pray for guidance and relief from stress as he cares for his special needs daughter. God's mercies are new every morning. They are not blotted out by what happened yesterday.
Please pray for the Lord to restore his faith, and for him to endure this time of adversity, as this author considered it a light thing. However, we should not accept it lightly. Specially if it is the result of bad behavior or discipline for transgression. We must accept that it is to be expected for Christians to suffer at times during our lives. Let us look to the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Consider 1 Peter 4:1 NIV: "Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin."
In the meantime, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up Tenlyrr's son to you. We pray for your healing touch on his body, especially his back, and ask that you grant him peaceful sleep. We also pray that you comfort him in his grief and help him as he cares for his special needs daughter. We ask that you soften his heart and draw him close to you during these trying circumstances. Help him to be a godly example to his daughter and give an understanding of Biblical principles that should be followed. Exalt Jesus as the Savior and example for our walks with God and we should be obedient to this calling.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
We also want to encourage your son to call to The Lord and lean on Him as this author considers and reviews the Godly men that covered these topics. Job suffered loss as well. However, he never cursed God the way his wife and friends suggested. We know Tenlyrr's son has suffered the loss of his helpmate and and wife.
Matthew 24:12 WEB, "Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will wax cold.". Let us pray that his love will not wax cold. Continue to press forward and use this time to draw close to God. Study and pray with appreciation that you are still under the covenant of God. Pray there is no iniquity that is separating him from you since you son said he is overwhelmed with the responsibility and consider possibly the opportunity that he has been given to be a blessing to his daughter. Remember the words of Paul in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Lastly, we would urge your son to seek non-opioid pain medication or alternatives under medical supervision. While we see that he has been given opioids for his pain, let us consider the noble purpose of removing that pain. However, opioids can lead to addiction and further trauma if not carefully managed. The Lord's perfect will is to trust Him and use wisdom on medication to heal and we should only use them as needed while keeping the wisdom of the medical community and best practices for these drugs. We also desire to avoid addiction in all of it's various forms and understand the damage that these can do to the body which is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
We look forward to hearing updates on this situation and encourage an updated prayer request as this situation unfolds. God is faithful, and we trust that He will hear and answer our prayers according to His will.
Let us also consider the words of James 4:7 WEB, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." If there is bad behavior or sin that has not been addressed and that may have contributed to this let it be known so that we can hold accountability to your son and begin praying through this.
