Let us come together in prayer for your son and his family, standing in the gap for them and seeking God's will in this situation. We understand that your son is leaving his family and that there have been struggles for many years. We will pray for spiritual intervention, healing, and restoration for their marriage and family.
Firstly, we acknowledge that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB), and that He desires for marriages to be healed and restored. We also recognize that true happiness and love are found in God alone, and that He has the power to change hearts and transform lives. Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You see the pain and struggle that they have been going through, and You desire for them to be whole and healed. We pray, Father, that You would intervene in this situation and soften your son's heart. Give him a spirit of endurance and patience, and help him to see the value in fighting for his marriage and family, to be the husband and father you want him to be.
We pray for your son's wife and daughters, Lord, that You would comfort them and give them strength during this difficult time. Surround them with Your love and peace, and help them to trust in You. Give them wisdom to respond to this situation in a way that honors You.
We rebuke any spirit of division or unhappiness that may be at work in their marriage and family, and we command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. We proclaim that no weapon formed against their marriage and family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and that God's plans for them are for good and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to your son in a powerful way, and that You would draw him closer to You. Help him to know that You are the source of true love and happiness, and that You have a good plan for his life and his family's life.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance for you, the parent, as you navigate this situation. Help you to speak truth in love, and to be a source of support and encouragement for your son and his family.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation, and that Your will would be done. We trust that You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB).
We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. It is by His name that we have access to the Father and can make requests and supplication. Amen.
Take heart, dear friend, knowing that God loves your son and his family more than we ever could, and that He is working in their lives for His good purposes. Continue to pray and trust in Him, and encourage your son and his family to do the same. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
If they are not Christians, we pray for repentance and salvation for them, so they will have access to the Father through Jesus Christ.
