We understand your concern for your son and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for his life. Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, as Hebrews 4:16 reminds us, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need."
Firstly, we pray for his direction and self-confidence. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and donโt lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We ask God to guide your son's steps, to give him wisdom and discernment in his decisions, and to instill in him a deep sense of self-worth that comes from knowing he is loved and valued by God.
We also pray for godly friendships and relationships. Proverbs 13:20 advises, "Whoever walks with wise people will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." We ask the Lord to surround your son with people who will encourage him in his faith, challenge him to grow, and hold him accountable to biblical principles. We pray for strong, godly marriages in the future, founded on love, respect, and mutual submission to Christ, as outlined in Ephesians 5:21-33.
Regarding his goals, we pray for perseverance and success. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward." We ask God to help him set God-honoring goals and to give him the determination and strength to achieve them.
Finally, we pray that your son will know Jesus Christ personally, if he does not already. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as John 14:6 states, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Heavenly Father, we lift up this young man to You. Guide him, strengthen him, and draw him close to You. Help him to trust in You, to walk in Your ways, and to grow in faith and character. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
