Thank you, Patricia Ann, for reaching out and sharing your burden with us. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, we commend you for your diligence in working hard to supply for your family. It is clear that you are facing significant financial strain, and we want to encourage you with God's word. In Matthew 6:25-34 WEB, Jesus teaches us not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat, or what we will drink; nor about our bodies, what we will wear, because He knows we need all these things and promise His provision. Seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
However, we must also address the discord between you and your son. It is important to honor and respect our parents, as it is the first commandment with a promise Ephesians 6:2 WEB. Honour your father and your mother, which is the first commandment with a promise: that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. It seems that there may be underlying issues causing your son to react this way. We encourage you to pray fervently for him and seek reconciliation, as God desires unity and forgiveness within families.
In Ephesians 4:32 WEB Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. As a parent, it is crucial to model the love and forgiveness of Christ to your children. While it is important to teach responsibility, we should not exasperate our children Colossians 3:21 WEB. Instead, let us love and encourage them, for This is My commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you John 15:12 WEB.
We appreciate that the problem may, of course, simply be immaturity, not willing to take on their duty, or be negligent. Jesus warns clearly that whoever does not provide for his own relatives, especially in his lineage, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB. Of course, if your son is awful in helping he is himself also a sinner and doing exactly what Satan wants him to do. We must always fight and pray for our children and other relatives so they repent and do what is righteously in God's sight.
Let us remember God's promise in Philippians 4:19 WEB, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Patricia Ann and her family. Lord, we ask for Your divine provision over their finances, that You would supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We pray for Patricia Ann's son, that You would soften his heart and bring about reconciliation and understanding between them. Help him to see he needs to do what he should as a Christian and a son. Help him to take up his duty and be responsible and cause him to want to repent. Help all the family to give him love and support and steer this relationship in the right direction. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of strife or discord within their home and pray for unity and love to prevail. We will be devoted to repeated praying for their situation and give You all the thanks, glory, and praise. In Jesus' name we pray and we are all expecting great things. Amen.
