We join with you, Tovrun, in praying for your son's spiritual journey. It is always heartening to see parents interceding for their children, as this aligns with God's will for families. Let's come together in prayer and encouragement, guided by the Word of God.
Firstly, let's remember God's promise in Proverbs 22:6 WEB: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." This reassures us that the seeds of faith planted in your son's life will not return void.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 WEB it tells us, For if any are in Christ they are a new creation, if we turn to God from sin then God has forgiven us and sent us as workers for Christ. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be you reconciled to God. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
We pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Tovrun's son to You. Lord, You know his heart and his struggles. We pray that You would draw him close to You, that he would turn from any sin in his life, and that he would submit to Your will.
Father, we choose to renounce fear in this situation and choose to trust in You. Your hand is upon this him and You are guiding him in Your Will. In accordance with Your Word, we know only by having a true relationship with Jesus Christ can we have access to You. As true ambassadors for Christ we beg Tovrun's son in behalf of Christ to be reconciled to You, to turn to You from his sin, and submit to Your Will. We know that this relationship can only come by faith in Jesus Christ, confessing his sin, repenting of his sin, and asking Christ to take control of his life.
We look forward to seeing You working in his life to make him the man You have called him to be.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Tovrun, continue to model a godly life before your son, and trust that the Holy Spirit is at work in his heart. Be patient and steadfast. Remember these words from Romans 10:9, WEB: because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Remember: we are not saved by works, but we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. We do good works in faith for the purpose of glorifying the Lord, but we are not saved by works alone. It is our true heartfelt faith in Jesus Christ that saves us.
