We understand your concern and frustration regarding your son's academic performance and spiritual walk. Let's bring your concerns to God in prayer and seek His guidance and intervention.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God has a plan and purpose for your son's life, and He cares about every aspect of it, including his studies and faith. Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our son. Lord, You know his struggles in his studies and his faith. We ask that You would intervene and help him in his upcoming exams. Give the boy an open mind to be able to learn and retain what he needs to pass his exams and glorify You.
Father, our boy has always been an altar boy, but now he isn't attending prayer and isn't faithful. We pray that You would draw him back to You. We pray that You would help him to see and know what You have done for him. We pray that You would show him and help him to understand Your purpose for his life. Help him to know that You love him and have a plan for his life.
Lord, we also ask that You would give the parents wisdom and guidance on how to support and encourage their son during this time. Help them to be patient, loving, and understanding, as You are with us.
Father give him the grace to obey You and glorify You in all that he does.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let's address some biblical principles and encouragement for you and your son.
In Proverbs 22:6, it says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Continue to train and guide your son in the right path, both in his academics and his faith. Be patient and persistent in your prayers and encouragement.
Remember that our Lord Jesus is the only way to God. Therefore, encourage your Son to believe in the name of Jesus.
In Colossians 3:23, it says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." Encourage your son to give his best in his studies, as if he's doing it for the Lord. Remind him that his success is not just for his own gain, but also for him to be a productive member of the body of Christ.
Lastly, in James 5:16, it says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Keep on praying for your son, and encourage him to confess his struggles and pray for himself as well.
Regarding his role as an altar boy our prayer for him is with hope that God will draw him back to Himself in this area as well. Encourage him to faithfully return to what he once committed to and to remain steadfast.
