My sister Annette's daughter, Sarah, has been estranged from our family for a long time, as has my sister herself, along with my sister's son Tony. My mother has two great grandsons she has never met. (Right after Caden was born, my nephew sent a pic of him onto my sister Missy's cell. My mother would not even look at it.) Her heart is broken. I am not too thrilled either -- I am twice a great aunt and have yet to lay my eyes on my nephew's children. But to make long story short, my mother saw Sarah in grocery store. She invited her tonight for dinner. Sarah accepted the invitation, but there is no way to contact her to confirm. Anyway, my mother did not want to overwhelm Sarah so she canceled our normal Tuesday dinner with my sister Missy, my nephews and brother-in-law and with Jim and I. PLEASE -- Pray that Sarah shows up and on time and this leads to a reconciliation. I do not want to see my mother's heart broken again. Also, please pray that any and all re-involvement of these estranged members of my family is peaceful and joyful and does not cause any harm to anybody in my family, myself included. Amen and amen.
