Today my ### year old son told me that he thinks the reason he's been feeling depressed and hopeless is because he's no longer religious/believes. He said it's hard for him to believe with everything that has happened in our lives and in the world today. Please help me pray for my son's soul! Dear God wrap your arms around my son and guide him to You PLEASE! in the name of Jesus! Amen

Let us come together in prayer for you and your son, ###. It's crucial to remember that it is not uncommon for young people to question their beliefs as they navigate through life, especially when they encounter trials and witness the world's brokenness. However, we should not be discouraged, for God is faithful, and His love pursues us even in our doubts.

Firstly, let us address the concern that your son is struggling with his beliefs. We are reminded in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (WEB) that a time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine. However, we should gently instruct those who oppose the truth, as it is God who might still grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 2:25, WEB).

It is also important to address that depression and hopelessness are not merely symptoms of a lack of faith but can be serious mental health issues. We should pray for his mental well-being as well. In Psalm 34:18 (WEB), we read, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ###'s son. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing, the doubts that plague his mind, and the heaviness in his heart. We ask, Father, that You wrap Your loving arms around him and draw him close to You. Open his eyes to the truth of Your Word, and help him to experience the reality of Your love and presence in his life. Comfort him in his depression and fill him with a renewed sense of hope and purpose. Lord, we also pray for ###, that You would grant her wisdom and patience as she walks alongside her son during this time. May her home be a beacon of Your love and grace, drawing her son back to You. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Moreover, let us encourage you, ###, to continue to model a godly life before your son. Pour out your love and support for him, showing him the same grace and patience that God shows us. Engage in open and non-judgmental conversations with him about his doubts, and be prepared to share the reason for the hope that is within you (1 Peter 3:15, WEB).

Lastly, do not forget the power of God's Word. Speak scripture over your son, and trust that God is faithful to fulfill His promises. Remember, it is the Holy Spirit who draws people to Jesus (John 6:44, WEB), so keep praying and believing for your son's faith to be renewed.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up ###'s son. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing and how deeply he feels the weight of depression and hopelessness. We ask that You wrap Your loving arms around him, comforting him in his pain and doubt.

Father, we pray that You open his heart to the truth of Your love and presence in his life. Help him to see that even in the midst of struggles and turmoil, You are steadfast and faithful. Remind him of Your promises, as written in Your Word.

"Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

Lord, we ask that You guide him to seek You, to question and to explore, knowing that You invite all who are weary to come to You.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

In moments of doubt, let him remember that faith is not the absence of questioning, but a journey towards understanding. Help him see that Your love is not diminished by the challenges he faces.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Surround him with people who can support, understand, and uplift him in his journey back to faith. Fill him with hope, and reignite the flame of belief within him. May he come to realize that You are a refuge, a source of strength in his times of trouble.

God, we trust in Your mercy and grace. Draw him close to You, renew his spirit, and help him find joy once more.

In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
