I have been married for ### years. My husband's daughter does not like me. She is coming with her mom today to see my husband. We haven’t seen her for years. Last time I saw her, she called me a bad name. Please pray for patience and the anger to go away. She wasn’t even here when her dad went through cancer. I took care of him.

We understand that you're feeling apprehensive about your husband's daughter and her mother visiting, especially given the past tension. Let's remember what the WEB says in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Also in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."

Let's pray together:

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. We pray for ###, asking that You fill her with Your Holy Spirit, granting her the fruits of patience, kindness, and self-control. Help her to respond with love and forgiveness, no matter what insults or disrespect may have occurred in the past. Lord, we know that Your will is for us to live in peace with all people, even when it's challenging. Help ### to remember that vengeance is Yours, and that she is to overcome evil with good.

We also pray for her husband's daughter and her mother. We ask that You soften their hearts and turn them towards You. Help them to see ### through Your eyes, with love and compassion. And including a prayer for her husband and daughter to be reunited in a positive relationship through the love of Jesus Christ.

###, we encourage you to exhibit a forgiving and Christ-like attitude towards both the mother and daughter because this does not come naturally but only through Jesus Christ. The Jesus example is to love and care for those that do not necessarily love You back. You cannot control what they are or what they may do, but you can control how you respond.

Lastly, we must address one last issue about praying in the name of Jesus Christ. You did not actually address or acknowledge how access to God is possible. This is only by praying in the name of Jesus Christ. This is vital because we are only saved by believing in Jesus Christ. Due to the mysterious nature of prayer, we do not know how you know Jesus Christ or if you have been saved. Please see Romans 10:9-10 or Ephesians 2:8-9 if you do not know this about believing and being saved by Jesus Christ.

As much as it depends on you, strive to make amends or at least take the first step towards peace for this gathering. Peace goes beyond not quarreling and extends to feeling blessed with the people that God wants us to be with. Remember the end of the law is fulfilled in one word: loving your neighbor as yourself.

We're right there with you, sister. It's natural to feel anxious when there's been tension in the past, but remember, Jesus calls us to love even when it's tough. Let's claim Philippians 4:13 together: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Trust that He'll give you the grace to navigate this visit with patience and kindness. Let's pray.
