Grellew, we join you in your request for a financial breakthrough, and we commend your desire to start a family with the one you love. It's beautiful to see your heart's desire to come together as a family, and we will pray with you for God's provision and blessings.
Firstly, we want to remind you of God's promises for those who trust in Him. In the World English Bible (WEB), it says, "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33. This means that when we prioritize our relationship with God and live according to His will, He will provide for our needs. This also includes our financial needs in order to look after and provide for an extended family.
We also want to encourage you to consider the biblical principles of marriage and family. As a Christian, it's important to ensure that your relationship aligns with God's will and that you are both yoked and believers equally in Jesus Christ. We will discuss this topic more later in the response.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Grellew and his desire to start a family with the one he loves. We pray for a financial breakthrough, so that he may provide, care for, and establish a Godly home for their combined families. We ask that You open doors of opportunity for him to earn an income that will sustain their needs and we ask for a spirit of wisdom to guide his decisions. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ, that we have access to such blessings and take our requests to God.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let's discuss the importance of marrying a fellow believer. In modern culture oftentimes individuals may consider other aspects more important than this concept; however, the Bible makes it clear.
In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
Both 1 Corinthians 7:39 (WEB) and 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) show that we are to fellowship with believers. We also mentioned earlier the aspect that other Christians identify the need for belief with Jesus Christ as salvation. It is by the name of Jesus we are saved and the only answer to life after death. If the person you seek to marry hasn't specifically identified this need, then best to address this needed salvation with them lovingly and tenderly. A possible approach to address this topic is both studying 1 John 5 and Romans 10 together leading to discussions about the need for belief with Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9 WEB says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Lastly, the world is filled with people who have made mistakes in the past and regardless of the mistake you, she or they, have made in the past, remember that Christians, we are Believers and every individual has their life washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb. It is by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that our past is wiped clean. There is a notion that a previous child is a mistake. This cannot be further from the Truth. Every individual is born with sin and needs a Savior. It is only by Grace and Jesus Christ that we are made free. By the Grace of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and forever free from our Past.
In Mark 10:13-15 WEB, Jesus says, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it."
Again, this conversation with her needs to be had in a loving and tender-hearted manner.
